Youth & Family has a new Service leader!

Cantor Star Trompeter is thrilled to be joining the Netivot Shalom team as the Morning Mishpacha and Rimmonim Shabbat Service Leader!

Cantor Trompeter was ordained as Cantor in 2010 from HUC–JIR, Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music.  She also received her Master of Sacred Music from HUC–JIR, her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and her BA in Music and French Language and Literature from the University of Virginia. Cantor Trompeter has served as the Cantor at Temple Israel in Columbus, OH, as the Senior Cantor at Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester in Chappaqua, New York, and she most recently served as Senior Cantor for Congregation Beth Israel in Houston, Texas.

Currently, she serves as Song leader at Temple Sinai in Oakland for the preschool students, incorporating movement, rhythm, call and response and other techniques to engage the students.  Cantor Trompeter also leads Tefilah and teaches weekly music classes for the Kindergarteners through 6th graders at Temple Sinai, and she is responsible for helping to create age-appropriate Shabbat services for each grade level.

Always enthused to teach music to students of all ages, Cantor Trompeter has taught voice lessons and led group music classes at the Little Mission Studio in San Francisco.  She currently teaches voice and basic piano privately in her home in San Francisco to both children and adults.  Cantor Trompeter looks forward to working with the families at Netivot Shalom and can’t wait to meet you all!
