Prof. Arie Dubnov of Stanford's History Department combines serious socio-historical analysis with fun in his lecture on the work and career of Israeli composer and singer, Arik Einstein. Prof Dubnov will show how Einstein's music reflects a period of restless nostalgia among Israeli youth of the '70's, the generation, known as "dor habanim,” the "generation of the sons." This generation came of age after the establishment of the state of Israel and struggled with identity issues in the wake of their parents' achievements and how Israeli society came to define itself -- and them.
Join us for Professor Dubnov's lecture, Arik Einstein's music, and of course, discussion. Preceded by the Sunday Morning Minyan @ 9:30am, with breakfast; lecture at 10:30. Program brought to you by the V’Zot Yisrael Committee. For more information, email vezotyisrael@netivotshalom.org or visit www.netivotshalom.org/vezot_yisrael

COEXISTENCE BY MEANS OF THE CIRCUS...
Israeli, Muslim and Christian High School students, 72 in all met at theIsrael Circus School in Kfar Yoshua, learned to touch and support each other by performing four circus acts; trapeze, rope climbing, trampoline acrobatics and juggling. At the end, each group put on a performance, and more importantly, attitudes changed, trust was established and friendships formed.
SAFE FOOD GUARANTEED THROUGH ISRAELI TECHNOLOGY...
FoodScan 3000, an Israeli company, has developed a hand held advanced sensor that can detect the presence of contaminants and related chemicals in food in just three seconds before anyone can see or smell them. It detects a change in quality at any level, and can provide a relative indication of the contamination level of cheese, milk, fruit, vegetables, meat and other foods, protecting the public before someone becomes ill from eating contaminated food. The device is receiving world wide attention.
